It's 'L' shaped so it's best to attach it with the knob on the outside of the wheel instead of the inside. I tried it out both ways. It doesn't stick out far so you don't need to worry about it potentially hitting your knees. I also removed the rubber strip it comes with and have the spikes digging directly into the leather. I'm not worried about it messing up the leather underneath because it's so awesome that it'll never need to be removed. :)2. The silver clamp is 4 pieces, the spinning post, the top clasp and the bottom clasp with the bolt (not shown) holding them all together. I didn't end up using the locking nut because I screwed the 8-ball all the way down. If you wanted it to stick further up then you'd need the nut to hold it in place. It also comes with an Allen wrench to tighten the bolt.3. In my picture, my shift knob is from SpeedDawg. They also make celluloid (billiard ball) shift knobs so if you wanted to you could get a custom one from them and swap our your brody knob. Just make sure to choose the right thread size.
